Small satellites, CubeSats, payloads, and supporting electronics must all operate reliably in the harsh conditions of space, where vacuum and temperature extremes can impact materials, electronics, seals, and overall system performance.
Thermal vacuum testing (TVAC) helps simulate these conditions before deployment.
TVAC systems combine vacuum environments with controlled heating and cooling to recreate the conditions hardware experiences in orbit. These tests help engineers evaluate performance, identify potential failures, and validate hardware before launch.
Common objectives of thermal vacuum testing include:
