Vacuum Bake-Out System for Medical Device Drying

A medical device manufacturer required a vacuum bake-out for medical device drying system designed for high-volume, high-capacity batch drying. With multiple part sizes, the customer requested flexible shelving to maximize chamber space. System requirements included a vacuum level to 0.1 mbar and an integrated temperature controller for consistent performance.

We engineered a custom vacuum oven with nine locations for interchangeable shelves to maximize oven space and give flexibility to part sizes. With the ability to monitor up to five separate shelf heats simultaneously, this vacuum bake-out oven offers control, flexibility, and an efficient use of space.

HC-1000 Temperature Controller

Designed for simple, trouble-free temperature control of LACO vacuum systems, the HC-1000 Temperature Controller is ideal for vacuum ovens and thermal systems with associated equipment such as heating elements, thermocouples and vacuum feedthroughs. With standard FM approved over-temperature protection, the HC-1000 features a main power disconnect and quick start or stop of the heating process via a selector switch on the front panel. The controller is housed in a Nema 4 enclosure and utilizes digital PID control technology with solid state relays.

36″ Cube High (CH) Vacuum Chamber (SS Door / SS Body)

The 36″ Cube High (CH) vacuum chamber provides a large internal test volume for high-vacuum applications including degassing, material evaluation, component testing, and contamination-sensitive processes. The chamber is built from 304 stainless steel with a stainless steel hinged door to support stable sealing and long-term durability in laboratory and production environments.

The chamber achieves vacuum levels down to 1 x 10⁻⁷ Torr when paired with an appropriate pump package. Standard NW ports include an NW25 vacuum port, an NW25 vent port, and an NW16 gauge port for system monitoring. The 36″ cube configuration supports shelves, electrical or thermocouple feedthroughs, heated platens, cooling channels, and other options to meet specific test requirements.
