A satellite communications company required a thermal vacuum system capable of validating advanced imaging and connectivity components under high vacuum and wide temperature variations.
To meet this requirement, we configured a 36″ x 40″ chiller-based Thermal Cycling Vacuum System using a horizontal cylindrical vacuum chamber. The system uses a stainless steel rollout platen paired with an internal pillow-plated thermal shroud operating on a shared thermal circuit. A recirculating chiller supplies heating and cooling to both surfaces, enabling stable and repeatable temperature control across the test volume. The chamber also includes a 6″ door-mounted viewport and internal LED lighting to support visual monitoring during testing.
Vacuum performance is supported by a dry roughing pump paired with a high-speed turbomolecular pump package. The complete system mounts on a ruggedized mobile frame and operates through the HVC-3500 Thermal Vacuum Controller, providing automated sequencing, programmable test recipes, and continuous data logging for repeatable thermal vacuum testing.
