A bioscience company required a leak test system for disposable bioprocess containers used in critical medical and life science applications. The system needed to detect extremely small leaks beyond the capability of air-based methods while accounting for helium permeation through polymer films commonly used in disposable containers. In addition, the customer required validation testing to confirm reliable detection of very small, controlled leak sizes.
To meet these requirements, we engineered a custom automated leak test system using the helium hard vacuum leak test method. The system accommodates a wide range of disposable container sizes and provides significantly higher sensitivity than conventional air leak testing. By combining controlled test parameters with validation tooling, the system ensures repeatable, verified leak detection while minimizing false results caused by material permeation.
