Leak Test Bombing Chambers
Description
LACO designs and manufactures both standard and custom leak test bombing chambers for the leak testing of sealed objects that cannot be connected directly to a leak detector. We offer three standard bombing chambers that can be easily customizable to meet the needs of your application. Our applications engineers can also design manual or fully automated leak test bombing systems that include the components you’ll need for a complete turnkey system.
Standard Features
Our standard leak test bombing chambers feature stainless steel construction and clamped lid design. Designed to be connected to a regulated helium source for bombing, our chambers include the following:
1/4" push connect fitting for helium line with valve
1/4" vent port and valve
NW 16 or NW 25 flange and valve for connection to vacuum source
30 inHg to 60 psi compound gauges and safety pressure relief valve
Custom Solutions & Systems
We provide turnkey bombing systems designed for either manual or fully automated operations. Systems include:
Bombing chamber
Gas manifold
Vacuum pump
Timer
PLC control system (for automated operation)
Applications
The bombing method is used to leak test sealed objects that cannot be connected directly to a leak detector. The part is placed in a chamber containing pressurized helium, allowing the helium to penetrate the part. The part is then tested in a vacuum chamber connected to the leak detector. Important considerations include pressurization time, helium bombing pressure, internal volume and leak size. Please

The LBC0915-60 Leak Test ASME Pressure Bombing Chamber features:
304 SS White Pickled Finish
9” Diameter by 15” Ht
Top opening oval lid (5-7/8” by 4-7/8”) suitable for vacuum or pressure
Chamber is tested for full vacuum and operating pressures to 60 psi
1/4” Vacuum Port with manual valve adapted to NW 25 vacuum flange (NW 16 available upon request
1/4” port with manual valve and push connect fitting for 1/4” plastic tubing from regulated helium supply
Compound Gauge from 30 inHG to 0 to 60 psi
Safety pressure relief valve set to 75 psi (higher pressures available upon request)
3 gallon capacity and is ASME code stamped for 140 psi
